Early retirement salary
Conditions for entitlement to early retirement pension
- Completion of the age of at least (50) for the insured and the number of actual contributions must be at least (252) actual contributions for males and (228) actual contributions for females.
- Completion of at least (45) years of age for the insured and the duration of the contributions is (300) actual contributions.
- Termination of the service of the insured or suspension of affiliation in an optional capacity.
- The application for the allocation of the early retirement pension shall be made starting from the month following the end of service or upon the cessation of his voluntary contribution.
- Subject to the above, the Insurance Institution may, at the request of the insured, allocate an early retirement salary to him if his service is terminated for any reason whatsoever in any of the following cases:

- The insured who is covered for the first time after the entry into force of the provisions of the amended Law No. 24 of 2019 dated (1/10/2019) is excluded from the above cases, the early retirement salary is not entitled unless the male insured has completed the age of (55) and his contributions to this insurance reach at least (252) contributions, and the female insured completes the age of (52).) and that its contributions amount to (228) actual contributions to this insurance.
Early retirement salary calculation mechanism
- The early retirement salary shall be calculated on the basis of the average wage of the insured in the last (60) contributions, provided that this average does not exceed (60.0%) of the insured’s wage at the beginning of the last (60) contributions and not less than (20.0%), provided that the increase or decrease is excluded in both cases and after the adoption of the average, the salary is calculated according to the calculation formula approved by the Social Security Corporation.
- Insured individuals can calculate the old-age and early retirement pension by default through the virtual pension calculation service, which is listed on the Corporation’s website (ssc.gov.jo).
Combining early retirement salary with pay from work
It is not permissible for the holder of the early retirement salary other than the Jordanian to combine the early retirement salary with his wage from any work covered by the provisions of the Social Security Law, and the payment of the retirement salary is suspended from the beginning of the month in which the worker returns to work, and in the event that he leaves work, the early retirement salary is repaid as it is, at the beginning of the month following the end of service, and his subsequent contribution period is not added to his previous contribution period except upon completing the age of (60) for males and the age of (55). For the female or in the event of death, as of the beginning of the month following the completion of the age or the occurrence of death, and in all cases, the new retirement salary allocated to him shall not be less than the retirement salary allocated to him previously.
General Provisions
- The early retirement pension shall be allocated from the beginning of the month in which the insured submitted the salary allocation application.
- An establishment that employs an early retiree and does not inform the Organization and include him in the provisions of this Law shall pay a fine of (30.0%) of the total wages paid to him during his period of employment with it.
- The retiree shall, in the event of employment from any establishment, return the amounts disbursed to him unlawfully in addition to a fine of (9.0%) annually calculated from the beginning of the month following the receipt of such amounts until the date of their refund to the Organization.
- It is not permissible for a non-Jordanian early retirement salary holder to combine this salary with his wage from any work covered by the provisions of this law, provided that the payment of the retirement salary shall be suspended from the beginning of the month in which he returned to work, and in the event that he leaves work, the early retirement salary shall be repaid as it is from the beginning of the month following the end of service.
