Old age pension

Conditions for entitlement to old-age pension

  1. Completion of the age of (60) for males and (55) for females.
  2. The subscription period shall not be less than (180) subscriptions, including (84) actual subscriptions.
  3. The old-age pension shall be allocated as of:

The beginning of the month in which the service is terminated or the deduction is suspended if the insured completes or exceeds the age during his service covered by the provisions of the Law.

The day on which he completed the age outside his service covered by the provisions of the law.

  1. The day following the full payment of the amounts due for the addition of the period necessary for entitlement to the retirement pension in cash or using the balance of the savings account or both.
  1. The insured may cancel the application for the allocation of old-age pension in writing upon notification of the decision to allocate the salary or before it.
  2. The insured to whom the old-age pension or the mandatory old-age pension has been allocated may not return to be covered by the provisions of the law.

Mechanism for calculating old-age pension

  • The old-age retirement salary shall be calculated on the basis of the average wage of the insured in the last (36) contributions, provided that this average does not exceed (60.0%) and not less than (20.0%) of the insured’s wage at the beginning of the last (48) contributions, provided that the increase or decrease is excluded in both cases, and after approving the average, the salary is calculated according to the arithmetic formula approved by the Social Security Corporation.

Individual insured persons can calculate the old-age and early retirement pension by default through  the virtual pension calculation service, which is listed on the Corporation’s website  www.ssc.gov.jo.
