Lump sum compensation

  • It is not recommended for the insured to pay lump sum compensation when the contribution is suspended for one reason or another, except in emergency cases that do not enable him to return in the future to social security coverage, and at the same time there are conditions and restrictions for the payment of these benefits.

Cases of disbursement of lump sum compensation

  • The lump sum compensation shall be paid to the non-Jordanian insured or his heirs, regardless of the duration of his contributions, at his request or at the request of his beneficiaries in the following cases:
  1. Termination of service of the non-Jordanian insured.
  2. The death of the insured outside his service covered by the provisions of the Law.
  3. The application of the state of permanent natural disability to the insured, whether wholly or partially, outside his service covered by the provisions of the law.
  4. The insured has completed the age outside his service covered by the provisions of the law without completing the period required for entitlement to the old-age pension.
  5. The termination of the service of the single insured woman and exceeding the age of forty-five.
  6. Termination of the service of the insured who has completed the age of fifty-five and the insured woman who has completed the age of fifty, provided that their contributions do not exceed (83) contributions and that they have ceased to be covered for a period of not less than (36) months.
  • Payment of lump sum compensation in accordance with the provisions of the law in the event of one of the cases that allow the payment of compensation, as follows:
  1. (10.0%) of the total wage subject to deduction if the number of his contributions is (120) contributions or less.
  2. (12.0%) of the total wage subject to deduction if the number of his contributions exceeds (120) contributions and less than (216) contributions.
  3. (15.0%) of the total wage subject to deduction if the number of his contributions is not less than (216) contributions.
  • The  lump sum compensation shall be paid to the insured or to the beneficiaries if his service covered by the provisions of the Law is terminated due to the completion or exceeding the age  of  60 for males and the age of 55 for females, or his natural disability or death during his service covered by the provisions of the Law without completing the conditions for entitlement to retirement or sickness salary for the period of his contribution as follows:
    1. Multiply the number of contributions by (15.0%) of the average monthly wage for the last (24) contributions.
    2. Or multiply the number of contributions by (15.0%) of the average monthly wage for the number of contributions if it is less than (24) contributions.
